Prime is a complete and concentrated water conditioner for fresh and salt water. It detoxifies ammonia and removes chlorine and chloramines. Prime converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that can be easily removed from water through the appropriate bio-filter. It should be used during water changes to mitigate ammonium/nitrite toxicity. Prime also converts nitrite and nitrate into their non-toxic form, which can then be more efficiently removed by the bio-filter. It also detoxifies any heavy metals that can be found in normal concentrations in tap water. Prime is acid free, does not affect pH and will not overstress protein skimmers. It should be used when starting an aquarium and during water changes.
